I am a waterfall in human form
Words have the ability to makes us feel understood and less alone simply by being able to shine a light onto all the things we rather keep hidden when the truth is:
it’s better when we let it all spill

Poetry Excerpts
When the anxiousness comes knocking and hides in the crevices of your spine
Like it’s a first class hotel it owns
Tell it to leave
You have the right to kick it out
Actually, you must
Like the weeds teach the garden about resiliency
They don’t possess the right to take over and settle in Like they own the place
You must tell them
No, you must demand them to leave
You take the teachings
You don’t hand them the keys
If you must
Dig your hands in the dirt
Let your body feel the earth
have you forgotten that this is your home
This earth, this skin
This home is in your bones
It is yours
It is safe
It is where you belong
So dig out the weeds
That tell you ‘you are not enough’
That tell you ‘there is no home’
And when the garden is clean
Go inside your house
And draw yourself the sweetest bath
Light the candles
Bring the flowers
Leave the dirt under your finger nails
Let that, instead of the weeds
Remind you of your resilience
Close your eyes
Soak soak soak
…
When you close your eyes
And think of home
What do you see?
What do you feel?
What happens in your body
Are you contracting or expanding
Which are the memories locked into your spine
When you think about where you belong
What are the places and who are the faces that you see?
And how long would it take for you to see yourself?
When you think of home
Can you hear your own heart beat?
Can you taste your own essence?
Can you see your own magnificence?
I am curious to know
If you’re able to remember? Or did you get a little lost?
In the chaos of existence
In the heaviness of grief
In the demands of the collective
During seasons of so much change
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten what it feels like
When the grass tickles your feet
And the wind plays melodies on your skin
And the stars tell you stories of light
Have you forgotten what the salt in the ocean smells like
What the the sun kissing your skin tastes like
What the blooming of a flower sounds like
Have you forgotten
That inside this body
You live
That there is a life force pulsating through your veins
That there is joy anchored in your bones
That there is light emanating through your every pore
…
“It is my deepest hope
that at the end of it all
you will be home”
